With new styling and innovative technologies, GMC introduces the Bolder 2020 Acadia. Some enhancements include a new engine, trim line, bolder style, simpler connectivity, and innovative infotainment system. The trim level options include SLE, SLT, an all-new AT4 trim, and GMC’s flagship Denali. Depending on the model there are seating arraignments available for five, six, or seven passengers making it realistic to seat any type of family.
“The 2020 Acadia is stylish, functional and capable with more of the smart convenience and connectivity features that customers rely on every day,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. “And with GMC’s signature refinement at its core, the new Acadia advances the brand’s commitment to offering premium vehicles for discerning crossover customers.”
All-New Acadia AT4 Trim and Exterior Design
The 2020 Acadia introduces the first-ever designed Acadia AT4 trim with a more dynamic exterior styling and darkened finishes. The all-new AT4 has bold styling cues which include a black chrome-accented grille adding an off-road inspired design. The engine is packed with a 3.6L V-6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque and a twin-clutch AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system. The wheels feature a unique 17-inch set of wheels and all-terrain tires, with the option of 20-inch wheels available.
The exterior design features a bolder look with standard LED lighting and signature GMC C-shaped lighting. The outside mirrors are integrated with LED turn signals and power folding capabilities standard on Denali and available on SLT trim. For smoother loading purposes the cargo area features a hands-free power liftgate with GMC logo projective included on SLT, AT4, and Denali.
Innovative Engine and Interior Design
The 2020 Acadia adds dimension to its performance with a new 2.0L Turbo engine that comes standard on SLT and Denali models. It leverages GM’s recently introduced tri-power valvetrain, which varies lift across the rpm band to optimize power and efficiency. This dual-scroll turbo delivers peak torque between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm, while Active Fuel Management shuts down two cylinders and conserves on fuel in light-load conditions. The turbo-4 will integrate with the latest 9-speed automatic transmission that optimizes acceleration and efficiency reducing engine noise.
The unique interior design provides more space and efficiency with its Electronic Precision Shift. The EPS uses push buttons and pull triggers to change gears instead of a conventional shifter. This newly redesigned center console gives enhanced storage space. Most noticeably included in the Denali trim the interior color scheme is innovative with new, open-pore wood décor.
With tablets becoming more common, easier connectivity has become vital. The 2020 Acadia includes two new USB-C charging ports in the front and rear of the center console making the total number of ports 5, including a USB-A charging port for the third-row seating area.
Intuitive New GMC Infotainment System
The latest GMC infotainment system provides a more personal and intuitive infotainment system allowing for efficient connectivity. This new system offers voice recognition, a higher resolution touchscreen and a simplified interface that requires fewer steps for some tasks, along with a more user-friendly screen layout. Some of the new features in the 8-inch diagonal screen include a personal profile that is tailored to your preference including audio, available navigation and up to four profiles which can be assigned to the 2020 Acadia’s key fobs. Therefore, automatically resetting the preferences based on the profile and driver.
The system also features the all-new Navigation interface which offers a “one-shot” destination entry feature, improved route guidance functionality and personalized settings resulting in real-time updates and predictive navigation.
